We are back in Premier League action on Saturday evening as we take on Burnley at Turf Moor (5.30pm kick-off).
Last time out against the Clarets back in December, 2019, we stormed to our biggest victory of the season as we ran out 5-0 winners at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Harry Kane and Lucas Moura put us two ahead within the first 10 minutes before a wonder solo effort from Heung-Min Son made it three. We then wrapped the game up in the second half with Harry grabbing his second of the game and Moussa Sissoko later getting his second of the season.
Team news
Burnley boss Sean Dyche has confirmed that striker Ashley Barnes has returned to training but he will not be available to face us on Saturday as he continues his recovery from a hernia. Meanwhile, Matt Lowton (knee) and Johann Berg Gudmundsson (hamstring) also remain out for the Clarets.
Burnley's form
Sean Dyche’s side have been slowly creeping up the Premier League table in recent weeks - they come into this game sitting in ninth, just two points behind us. Unbeaten in the division since 11 January, the Clarets have picked up big wins over Leicester City and Manchester United so far in 2020 while three points were also earned against both Southampton and Bournemouth. They go into the weekend six unbeaten in the Premier League.
One to watch
Nick Pope has continued to prove his quality between the sticks for Burnley this season. An England international, Pope missed almost the entirety of last season with a dislocated shoulder but has returned this campaign showing the sort of form which saw him earn his place in the Three Lions’ 2018 World Cup squad. So far this term, he leads his fellow shot stoppers in terms of clean sheets with 11 in 28 games - four of those have come in his last five games.
New faces
Burnley brought in just one new face in the January window. That was midfielder Josh Brownhill. The 24-year-old moved to Turf Moor from Championship side Bristol City but, so far, he has made only one appearance for the Clarets, that coming as a late substitute in their 3-0 win over Bournemouth last month.

The numbers game
2 - Burnley have won just two of their 11 Premier League meetings with us (W2 D2 L7).
100 - This will be the 100th league meeting between us and Burnley. We have won marginally more games (39) than Burnley (36) in the previous 99 games.
6 - Burnley are unbeaten in their last six matches in the Premier League (W4 D2), conceding just two goals in this run and never more than once in a match. They last enjoyed a longer unbeaten streak back in February, 2019 (8 games).
11 - Only Liverpool (12) have kept more clean sheets in the Premier League this season than Burnley (11), while only in 2017/18 (12) have the Clarets recorded more shut-outs in a single Premier League campaign than they have in 2019/20.
6 - Dele has been directly involved in six goals in his last six Premier League games against Burnley, scoring twice and assisting four. Only versus Southampton (9) and Chelsea (7) has Dele had a hand in more PL goals than versus the Clarets.
Played for both
Ralph Coates famously scored the winner for us in the 1973 League Cup Final as we ran out 1-0 winners over Norwich City at Wembley - one of two major honours he won during his seven years with us. The winger from Hetton-le Hole, County Durham, made his breakthrough at Burnley after he signed a professional deal with the Clarets as a 17-year-old in 1963. He made 216 appearances in his time at Turf Moor while he also picked up the first of his four full international caps for England.
Following Burnley’s relegation from the First Division in 1971, he made the move to White Hart Lane and, within a year of joining, he had his hands on his first piece of silverware as a Spur as we lifted the UEFA Cup in 1972. The following season, he moved off the wing and into midfield where he showcased some of his best displays in a Spurs shirt, including scoring that League Cup winning goal against Norwich. After helping us reach another UEFA Cup Final in 1974, he moved to Leyton Orient in 1978, where he finished his playing career. Ralph was inducted into our Hall of Fame in May, 2010 but, sadly, he passed away later that year at the age of 64 following a stroke.
