Teamwork has been key for Hugo Lloris during lockdown.
The country went into lockdown to combat the coronavirus in March. After training remotely as a group and then working through the Premier League’s Return to Training Protocol, the players are now preparing for a return to action and Manchester United at home on Friday week (19 June, 8.15pm).
“No-one could have expected this situation,” said skipper Hugo, who has also had to deal with a serious injury and over three months out earlier in the season.
“We all have to adapt to this new environment and of course with the lockdown, we were all on the same page, everywhere in the world.
We never really stopped working and I think as a team, we all feel good and we’re ready to be back again
“Personally, I just tried to find the best way to escape a bit, to spend time with my family, but at the same time you have to maintain a certain level of fitness and condition and for that, the coaching staff provided us the best that they could. We never really stopped working and I think as a team, we all feel good and we’re ready to be back again.
“The key is solidarity and it has to come from everyone in the club, everyone in football. I think that the team is a very good team with a very good spirit, and we are ready to move on all together and to follow the lead of the manager.
“There are nine games to go and we are looking forward to being back in the competition and to reduce the gap and to finish in the highest place.”
