"We're working as hard as possible" - Harry's message

As we approach our final home game of this most unusual of campaigns, Harry Kane is determined to help us achieve a European spot for 2020/21 – and has paid a glowing tribute to our supporters for sticking by the team during what has been a challenging year on many fronts.
The striker bagged his 200th and 201st career goals in the midweek win at Newcastle United and is sure to be keen on adding to his impressive tally against Leicester City – 12 goals in nine Premier League games – when the Foxes come to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (4pm).
Victory against Brendan Rodgers’ men would see us take another big step towards securing a place in the Europa League, having unfortunately missed out on a spot in the top four for the first time in five years.
Speaking in an interview with BT Sport earlier this week, Harry was asked if he had a message for our supporters as we approach the end of the elongated 2019/20 season.
“It’s just to stay patient,” he said. “It’s been a great run of four years of Champions League football in a row but it’s not going to be perfect every season. This year has been disappointing for us as players, obviously as a Club we’re disappointed to be where we are now and I know the fans are disappointed as well, but unfortunately that’s football. The most important thing is trying to turn it around and just to let everyone know that we’re working as hard as possible to do that.
“It’d be a real shame for a club like us, especially after the past five or six years we’ve had, to not be playing in Europe. We know how much it means to the club, to the fans, even ourselves to be playing in Europe. It’s a massive stage so we’re fully focussed on that. We’re not taking our eyes off the ball.”
We’ve remained unbeaten at home since the Premier League’s restart last month, with last weekend’s victory over Arsenal making it three wins and a draw from our four behind-closed-doors matches in N17.
Sadly, we’ll once again be playing without our fans in attendance on Sunday, but Harry has underlined how much the players appreciate the remote support of the Club’s faithful.
We know how much it means to the club, to the fans, even ourselves to be playing in Europe.
“All the games have been difficult without the fans,” he said. “We spoke before the Arsenal match and said how important the game was, and that there were still millions of fans watching around the world that we had to perform for and try to win for. Once you’re on the pitch and the whistle goes, you’re fully focussed on your job and trying to help the team but, of course, we’ve missed the fans in every game so far.”
