Maybe we should all take notice when Lucas Moura says ‘it’s not impossible’ as the players look to pick up the pieces from Bramall Lane and start again against Everton.
A glance at the Premier League table on Sunday has us 10 and seven points respectively behind Manchester United and Wolves in fifth and sixth place with a game in hand as Matchweek 33 continues today and Monday.
We have six games remaining with Everton our next opponents at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday evening (8pm).
Lucas famously helped us complete mission impossible with his hat-trick in the second half to beat Ajax 3-2 and take us into the Champions League Final in May last year.
“We have to see Everton as another opportunity,” said Lucas. “We know it’s really hard for us now, the situation is difficult, but it’s not impossible. We will fight, we will give our best - and that’s the minimum we need to do.”

Lucas described the 3-1 loss at Sheffield United as a ‘tough night, tough game, tough result’. He was, of course, central to the equaliser that never was - Harry Kane’s goal for 1-1 ruled out by VAR for handball against Lucas - but the general consensus is we should have done better.
“We started well, and their first goal was a big knock, but that’s football,” said Lucas. “I don’t have the words to explain what happened.
“We knew it was very important and it puts us in a very difficult situation. I don’t know what to say, but we need to keep going, to keep working until the end. We tried, they played well, three goals... it’s difficult. We know we need to improve and as I said, we have to keep going.”
