Supporters’ Clubs giving back to their local communities

Wed 08 January 2020, 16:00|Tottenham Hotspur

As well as coming together to watch Spurs matches, many of our Official Supporters’ Clubs become a force for good within their local community by raising money for a range of charitable initiatives.

The latest clubs to show their support for a worthy cause are Boston Spurs from the United States and Algarve Spurs from Portugal.

The former recently held their seventh annual charity auction and raffle, which gave members the chance to win a shirt signed by Harry Kane. Funds from the event took the total raised by Boston Spurs in 2019 to a record $6,500 and an impressive $21,700 since the club was formed.

The auction was in aid of two charities - Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, our Official Charity Partner, and Soccer Without Borders, a programme that uses football to effect positive change in cities across the United States, Nicaragua and Uganda.

Back in Europe, Algarve Spurs held their first Christmas charity raffle and auction since joining the Spurs family as an Official Supporters’ Club, raising nearly €2,000 for Centre Algarve - a specialist holiday facility for people with special needs.

Boston Spurs and Algarve Spurs are two of our many clubs that go the extra mile in the name of Tottenham Hotspur. For example, Toronto Spurs recently worked with the Regent Park Soccer League, Canada’s largest housing project, which enables young people to access free football coaching.
