Spurs v City – important travel update

Wed 29 January 2020, 14:07|Tottenham Hotspur

Extensive engineering works will reduce mainline railway services to the Tottenham area for our home Premier League match against Manchester City on Sunday (2 February, kick-off 4.30pm). Fans attending the fixture should take note of the following travel information.

Reminder - Regional Coach service available

Our Regional Coach service, serving a number of destinations within Spurs supporter heartlands is available for all home matches.

All fans who now book onto a coach service will receive a free official matchday programme on arrival at the coach park in Tottenham.

Please note, services will now depart from the coach park 45 minutes after full-time instead of one hour.

As recently advised, Sunday’s match is affected by extensive engineering works that will reduce mainline railway services to the Tottenham area.

The most notable disruption is to the Greater Anglia services from and to the north of Cheshunt station. Rail replacement services will be in place but are expected to be very busy.

Additional coach pick-up locations

Regional Coach Service provider Big Green Coach have added the following locations to their network to help affected supporters travel to the match: Bishop’s Stortford, Cambridge, Great Shelford, Harlow, Saffron Walden, Sawbridgeworth, St Ives, St Neots and Trumpington.

Additional Rail Disruption

Fewer trains than normal will run from and to Liverpool Street, with four trains per hour from Northumberland Park rather than the usual eight. Train frequencies at Northumberland Park will have large gaps between some services with queues expected to be longer and slower than normal. Please see the timetable below for details.

Four trains per hour will run from Northumberland Park to Stratford but services towards Essex are limited, with no services from and to Southend Victoria. We recommend visiting
www.nationalrail.co.uk to plan journeys.

Six services per hour will operate between Cheshunt and Liverpool Street, four via Northumberland Park and two via White Hart Lane.

London Underground and London Overground

A full service is in operation on the Victoria line and supporters are recommended to use Tottenham Hale after the match as it is a shorter walk than Seven Sisters.

There will be no Piccadilly line services west of Hammersmith and no District line services west of Earl’s Court and lower frequencies than normal for these lines across Central London. This may result in higher than normal passenger flows on the Victoria line in Central London.

The Piccadilly line service frequency at Wood Green will be less than normal before and after the match.

London Overground will be running additional services between Liverpool Street and Enfield Town before and after the match.

The Gospel Oak to Barking line via South Tottenham is closed all weekend.

Stations

White Hart Lane is expected to be busier than normal before and after the match. Fans intending to use the station should note that it is now fully accessible. Please bear with us as we allow the new station operations to bed in. Although the station has been upgraded, the new rolling stock has not yet been introduced and train capacity remains the same.

TfL Buses

The 149 service has now joined the 259, 279 and 349 services on the shorter eastern diversion route around the High Road matchday closure.  This should improve the availability of services, particularly to Seven Sisters post-match.

Shuttle Buses

The Club is operating its two Shuttle Bus services from both Alexandra Palace station (Great Northern Line) and Wood Green station (Piccadilly Line).
