Spurs v Leicester – how to watch, team news, key information
Sat 19 December 2020, 23:43|Tottenham Hotspur
Our final Premier League match before Christmas sees us host another side competing at the top end of the table in the form of Leicester City.
Both teams come into the game off the back of midweek defeats to the Merseyside clubs, although the Foxes have won five of their six Premier League away games so far this season.
Ahead of the 2.15pm kick-off, here’s all you need to know...
How can I watch the game?
Government restrictions mean we revert to playing behind closed doors again for the visit of Brendan Rodgers’ side.
Supporters can watch the game live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event, kick-off 2.15pm in the UK. Live radio commentary is available on BBC Radio 5 Live. You can find full worldwide broadcast listings here.
Our live Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app is another great way to follow all the action, with live text and audio commentary, goal alerts and stats at your fingertips.
Plus, don’t forget to tune in to N17 Live, our exclusive pre- and post-match show from inside the stadium for all the live build-up and reaction as it happens. It’s available to watch for free online, across social media and on the Spurs Official app from 1.30pm UK.
How will the teams line up?
Erik Lamela and Japhet Tanganga remain sidelined for us, although Gareth Bale is back in training and could be involved after missing our last two games through illness.
Leicester have defender Jonny Evans available again after suspension, while Timothy Castagne and Daniel Amartey are both in contention to return after recovering from hamstring injuries.
Who is the referee and what colours will the teams be playing in?
Craig Pawson is set to officiate Sunday afternoon’s match.
He’ll be assisted by Simon Bennett and Edward Smart, while David Coote will be the fourth official.
We’ll be in our usual home kit, with our goalkeeper in orange.
Leicester will be in all blue, with their goalkeeper in fluorescent green.
Remembering Justin Edinburgh
Saturday marked JE3 Day in memory of our legendary former player, Justin Edinburgh, who would have turned 51 on Friday. As a Club that is proud to honour Justin’s legacy, and following on from the success of last year’s inaugural JE3 Day, Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff will wear pin badges in support of the JE3 Foundation during the match against Leicester.
Justin made 276 appearances for the Club between 1990-2000, winning the FA Cup in 1991 and the League Cup in 1999. He also wrote himself into Leyton Orient folklore as a manager, guiding the East London club back into the Football League with a promotion from the National League in May, 2019.
Sadly, Justin passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest a month later, aged 49.
The JE3 Foundation was established by his family soon after, aiming to support UK heart health charities and to campaign for legislative change – Justin’s Law – to make it compulsory for all health, fitness and sports facilities to be equipped with a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD).
Earlier this season, the Club and it’s fans raised a total of £33,170 for the JE3 Foundation through an auction of match-worn shirts from our League Cup success against Chelsea.
