We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ledley King as First Team Assistant.
Ledley will join as a member of our first team staff, working alongside the coaches, analysts and playing squad both at the Training Centre and on matchdays. He will also take on the role of supporting our academy players as they look to step up to the first team.
Our legendary former captain needs little introduction, having given us 13 years of sterling service as a first team player, making 323 appearances in total and lifting the League Cup at Wembley as captain in 2008. He retired in 2012 and has since continued his association through his work as a Club Ambassador.
Head Coach Jose Mourinho said: “I am extremely pleased to be welcoming Ledley into the first team group as we continue our preparations for the new season.
“He has a tremendous affinity with this football club and the fans appreciate just how much he has accomplished as a true Spurs man both on and off the pitch.
“We have developed a good relationship since I arrived, and we hope to use his experience and insight to support the work we are doing with the squad.”
We can also confirm the departure of Ricardo Formosinho, who joined us as our Tactical Analyst last year.
Everybody at the Club wishes Ricardo well for the future.
