Bournemouth are next up in the Premier League on Saturday (3pm) as we continue our busy schedule across November, December and into January.
Speaking after training on Friday, here are Jose Mourinho's views going into his third game as Head Coach...
1 - This week
First up, we asked how the players have been after Tuesday night's win against Olympiacos...
Jose: "Apart from the injuries that you already know and Ben Davies, sad news, everyone is good, getting stronger, no problems. We are ready."
2 - The schedule
We have started (at West Ham) a run of 12 games in 43 days across three competitions, how does Jose and his coaching team deal with such a schedule?
Jose: "It's game to game, but with one eye on the next one. The matches are so difficult, if you don't focus, you are in trouble, so there is no point thinking 'in X days we play against this team, in X days we play against that team'. I know when the complete week without a match comes, and that week is going to be very important for us. Apart from that, we have matches to play, we need points. Bayern Munich is the only match in December where the points are not going to influence anything, because we are second in the group and we will finish second. Apart from that, every point could be a crucial point and our situation in the table doesn't allow us to make many mistakes."
3 - Bournemouth
We asked Jose what he's expecting from Bournemouth on Saturday...
Jose: "First of all, they are not afraid of us. That's the way they approach matches, that's why they get results against the top teams. It's not easy to play against them. They have quality, good tactical organisation, some good quality players. It's not easy to play them."
4 - Dele
Jose was asked about Dele before he took charge of a game - he was asked in his press conference on Friday if he felt he was seeing a Dele revival two games in...
Jose: "I have to say, two fantastic performances. He will not be the man of the match every game, he will have some matches where he will not play as well as he did in these two, but he has to keep a certain base, a certain platform of performance where he is never going below that. That's the objective. A fantastic player, young, with all the conditions to develop, so I think he has a bright future and we just want to help him to reach his levels and maintain these levels."
5 - Being ballboy...
He's the name on everyone's lips - Callum Hynes, our ballboy. Callum's quick thinking helped us score the crucial equaliser against Olympiacos on our way to a 4-2 win on Tuesday night and he was thanked at the time by Jose and then again after the match, when Jose mentioned that he had been a ballboy himself as a youngster between 10 and 15, 16-years-old...
Jose: "It was me ballboy, my dad the coach. I was kind of half-ballboy, half-messenger. I did the tactical work for the manager, giving information to the players, going around the pitch, but I was also very clever because I was smelling and breathing the game. I had situations, for example, I knew where to put the ball depending on the free-kick or the corner-taker. So depending on the guy, I was running with the ball, going to the quarter-circle and putting the ball in the position I knew the player wanted, so he didn't need to go there and touch the ball. I knew exactly what the kid was feeling. I had it so many times, my dad telling me 'well done, kid', I thought that would be nice for him (Callum). I thought he was really clever and who knows if that fast-thinking was not crucial for the game because it was the second goal after that."
