Belief is key for Kieran Trippier as we bid for a place in the Champions League Final this week.
We travel to Amsterdam to face Ajax in the second leg of our semi-final tie trailing 1-0 from the first leg.
Ajax impressed in the early stages of that first leg as we started slowly. However, we grew into the game, were able to pin them back in the second half and got into good positions without carving out that clear-cut chance to perhaps draw level.
Heung-Min Son is available after being suspended for the first leg and we know what we have to do - win the game.
"We’ve the belief in the squad and we’ll go there with nothing to lose and try to score as many goals as we can," said full-back 'Trips'.
"It’s only 1-0 and okay, they’ve got their away goal, but if you look at the performance, desire and determination we showed against City at their place in the last round, we scored three goals and anything can happen.
"We have to go out there with no fear. We know it’s a difficult place to go, I’ve played at their stadium before so we know what it’s going to be like but we believe in ourselves and believe that we can go there and score goals."
Asked if the team could take inspiration from the second leg of the quarter-final at City - where we scored three times to progress on away goals - Kieran was in no doubt.
"Of course, if you look at the collective as a group and how hard we worked on the night, we know we can do it," he added. "The away goals were crucial and we believe we can go anywhere and score goals. We will go there with the mindset to give everything."
