Ladies star Neville up for Player of the Month

A fantastic week for Spurs Ladies keeps getting better with the news today (Thursday 2 May) that defender Ashleigh Neville has been shortlisted for the FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month award.
Left-back Ashleigh played a starring role as Karen Hills’ side came back from two goals down to win 3-2 at Charlton on Easter Sunday, heading in the equaliser for 2-2 before scoring an almost identical goal to scoop maximum points against the Addicks in sensational style.
That result ensured the Ladies went to Aston Villa for their penultimate game of the season last night needing one point to secure a promotion spot – which they subsequently achieved thanks to a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
Ashleigh is one of four players in the running for April’s FA Women’s Championship Player of the Month award. She’s joined by Danielle Cox of Sheffield United and the Manchester United duo of Lauren James and Charlie Devlin.
Vote for Ashleigh on Twitter (@FAWC_) until 5pm on Saturday (4 May).
