During this week’s Spring half-term, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, in partnership with the Cruyff Foundation and Homes for Haringey, hosted a family fun day on the Ferry Lane Estate, Tottenham, for local residents.
Staff from Tottenham Hotspur Foundation delivered a mini football tournament and basketball competition for the youngsters who attended, while Homes for Haringey provided face painting, music and other entertainment.
Tottenham Hotspur Foundation works in partnership with the Cruyff Foundation to provide a safe space for youngsters who live on the estate to play sport and uses the Ferry Lane Cruyff Court, a 3G AstroTurf pitch, to deliver free football coaching each week. These sessions aim to help the children work together to build a safer, stronger and more respectful community and equip them with skills to help steer them away from crime.
Richard Allicock, Community Development Manager at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “We have been delivering free football coaching at Ferry Lane Estate since the launch of the Cruyff Court in 2012. It’s important that the Foundation runs additional activities such as today’s fun day to help bring the community together and provide additional activities for the whole family to enjoy during the school holidays.”
