Harry Kane described a ‘big second half’ and praised Hugo Lloris for his late penalty heroics as we came from behind to take a point against Arsenal on Saturday.
It was a tale of two penalties at Wembley. Harry slotted home the equaliser on 74 minutes after being bundled over himself and then Hugo’s dramatic late save to deny Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the game ticked into the 90th minute.
Aaron Ramsey earlier opened the scoring on 16 minutes but we fought back, finally equalised and went for the win from there but it might have gone the other way but for Hugo’s intervention - his second penalty save on the trot.
We got the goal and it was a massive save from Hugo. He stepped up. It could be a vital point for us.
“It was a big second half for us, we came out fighting and we wanted to turn it around,” said Harry, who took his tally to 22 goals this season.
“We wanted the three points, that’s what we came here for but the fight we showed, the crowd can relate to that, showing a bit of passion. We got the goal and it was a massive save from Hugo. He stepped up. It could be a vital point for us.
“We’ve had a tough week, two disappointing results against Burnley and Chelsea and it was up to us to bounce back, show some passion and we did that, especially in the second half.”
As Harry mentioned, the draw halted a run of two straight defeats and he believes we’ll take confidence now into our Champions League Round of 16, second leg at Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, where we lead 3-0 from the first leg.
“It’s going to be another tough game away from home,” he added. “We’ve played there a few times in the last few years, they have a fantastic crowd, we have a 3-0 lead and everyone expects us to go through but we’ve still got to go there, do the job, work hard and make sure we go through to the quarter-finals.”
