Information for our supporters travelling to Germany for our Champions League Round of 16, second leg against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.
Kick-off is 9pm local time (8pm UK).
Signal Iduna Park Stadium
Also known as the Westfalenstadion, Signal Iduna Park is home to Borussia Dortmund. It is Germany’s largest stadium with a capacity of 80,720 for a Bundesliga game. It was built for the 1974 World Cup and hosted matches in the 2006 World Cup.
Getting to the stadium
The address for the Signal Iduna Park stadium is Strobelallee 50, 44139 Dortmund.
Official trip with Thomas Cook
For those supporters travelling on the official trip via Thomas Cook, you will be dropped off at the stadium when you arrive at approximately 1pm. The coaches will then stay at the coach park for the remainder of the trip. Please make a note of where your coach is parked - Car Park E3. You will then be able to take the U-Bahn 45 or 46 into the town centre. This is the suggested area for our fans. The main train station known as Dortmund Hauptbahnhof or Dortmund Hbf is directly opposite this area.
By rail
Signal Iduna Park can be reached by a five-minute train journey from Dortmund’s main railway station. The stadium is a short walk away. Trains typically run three to four times an hour. Alternatively, you can take the U-Bahn from the centre and get off at station Westfalenhallen. From there it is a five-minute walk to the stadium. Both lines 45 and 46 serve the stadium. On matchdays, there is also a special service that will continue to station Stadion which is even closer to the stadium.
Please be aware that your match ticket doubles up as a U-Bahn ticket, so your travel is included.
By rail from Dortmund Airport
The stadium can be reached from Dortmund Airport by taking the shuttle bus to the Holzwickede/Dortmund Airport train station, taking train RB59 towards Dortmund Central and getting out at Signal Iduna Park.
By car
Leave the A45 at the junction Dortmund Sud and turn onto the B45 to Dortmund. There are pay and display parking places around the stadium. Please note, it will be busy. Parking is also available at the Dortmund University of Technology where shuttle buses transport fans to the stadium.
For further information, including how to reach the stadium by car or coach, please visit https://www.bvb.de/eng/BVB/Signal-Iduna-Park/SIGNAL-IDUNA-PARK and see the map below.

At the stadium
Please arrive early
Local police have advised that all supporters arrive at the stadium early as the security checks at the entrance may take some time.
Once at the stadium, all supporters will enter via turnstiles situated at the North Stand (left section). Searches will be carried out by Dortmund club staff and there will be THFC stewards on hand to assist. Prohibited items are listed here.
Flags and banners are welcome and will be checked prior to entry. There is an area where they can be placed at the front of the visitors' sector - please speak to a steward who will place the banner for you. As always, please note that it is common policy and normal ground rules at football stadiums in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, that flags of an overtly religious/sectarian/political nature will not be permitted and may be confiscated, please respect this request.
Dortmund have a strict NO BAG Policy.
If you intend to bring a bag with you, there is a dedicated bag drop point - AbgabestelleGast - located opposite the turnstiles. These can be pointed out to you by stewards. This is chargeable at 1 Euro per item.
Tottenham Hotspur supporters will be in Sectors 55, 56 in the lower tier and Sectors 57, 58 and 59 in the upper tier. To reach the upper levels you will have to climb 104 steps. There is also a lift for those with mobility access requirements. Please ask stadium staff to assist you.
Disabled supporters
Disabled supporters in wheelchairs will be in Sector 6. This allocation is accessible from ground level. Our wheelchair users will be escorted from the information point at the away entrance by the volunteer group. Supporters can request refreshments from the volunteers who will bring them directly to them. There is a toilet close by. There is also a red cross medical room close by should any disabled supporters require medical attention or assistance using the toilet facilities. The view from this position is unobstructed and directly adjacent to the home bench. Although near the home supporters, we have been assured that there are no issues and that they are very respectful towards disabled away supporters.
Category 1 premium seats are in Sector 52, this allocation looks out over the halfway line. Access to this area is via Eingang Nordost (Entrance North-East) adjacent to the standard visitors' entrance in the North Stand. Access to Sector 52 is via two stairwells although there is lift access from the first level for those that have difficulty walking.
The catering facilities are good and are located at the bottom of gangways. The welfare facilities are clean and well maintained. Seating is all numbered with unrestricted views.
The concourses, food stations and toilets are not segregated. We have been advised there is no reason for concern - this is standard practice at the stadium and there have been no problems in the past. There will be plenty of police and stewards in the vicinity.
It is highly likely that Spurs fans will be kept back for up to 20 minutes and we would ask all supporters to be patient during this time as it could lead to an earlier departure.
Passports/currency/Travel Line
Supporters are advised to carry their passport for identification purposes if required (although this is not a legal requirement). Please note we have been advised by the British Consulate that should a supporter lose their passport, a replacement cannot be authorised in Dortmund. For further information please visit https://www.gov.uk/world/organisations/british-consulate-general-dusseldorf
Please be mindful of active pickpockets and ensure all belongings, including your match ticket, are always kept safe.
The local time is one hour ahead of the UK, and the local currency is the Euro.
Do remember to have the correct travel insurance prior to travelling. If you experience any problems whilst in Dortmund, please call the Travel Line - 07971 880445 - and we will endeavour to assist.
Spurs respects
The club is rightly proud of the good behaviour of our fans during previous European travels and we would ask that you uphold this by respecting local amenities and cultures. Please do not place flags or banners on local statues or historic monuments or architecture as this may offend local inhabitants.
Finally, remember that you are an ambassador for the Club and we would respectfully request that you behave accordingly throughout the entirety of your visit.
We wish you a safe journey and look forward to seeing you in Dortmund. COYS!
