You last saw them at the Finale and now you can see them at our new home.
Some of the great names from our recent past have been quick to join up to represent Spurs Legends against Inter Forever in the second Test Event match at the new stadium this month.
We are delighted to announce that, among those set to pull on the famous Lilywhite shirt in the prestigious Legends match on Saturday 30 March are Robbie Keane, Rafael van der Vaart, Dimitar Berbatov, Allan Nielsen, David Howells, Stephen Carr, Darren Anderton and goalkeeper Erik Thorstvedt, with many more stars still to be revealed.
The team will be managed on the day by our long-serving former captain, second-highest appearance-maker of all-time and current Club Ambassador, Gary Mabbutt.
This fixture represents one of two high-profile Test Event matches – the other sees our Under-18s take on Southampton on Sunday 24 March – as we celebrate Spurs players of the past and future.
Ticket applications for both matches are open for Season Ticket Holders until 5pm today (Wednesday). Please come and enjoy these occasions and help us test the stadium so we can open it.
“To have an involvement as manager of the Spurs Legends for this momentous occasion is a huge honour,” said Gary. “We are assembling a star-studded line-up of former players and I, for one, cannot wait to experience this incredible occasion inside our world-class new home along with our supporters. I’ve seen and done a tremendous amount in my career that I’m extremely proud of, but to have the chance to be on the touchline and lead our Legends into battle against Inter, as we test out our new stadium, is sure to give me an immense feeling of pride. We’re so grateful to the players who have agreed to play and would like to thank our fans for their continued support as we work towards opening the stadium for the first Premier League game. We are coming home!”

Former striker ‘Keano’ added: “It means such a lot to me to have the opportunity to play in this game. Spurs is obviously a club that I hold very close to my heart and I have so many great memories of playing for the Club over the years, but to see the new stadium and how good it looks, it’s going to be absolutely unbelievable to play inside it as one of the first players ever to do so. The stadium is incredible and I can’t wait to get out there and play in it.”
Darren Anderton, who holds the record for the highest amount of Premier League games played in our colours with 299, added: “I can’t wait to play in this game. I visited the stadium earlier this year and went out onto the terraces to have a look at the pitch – I can tell you it’s very, very special. It certainly made me want to put my boots back on and play in this game against Inter. It will be so good. The stadium itself is just an amazing venue. I’ve been to lots of different stadia all over the world but this stadium is as good as you’ll see anywhere and I absolutely love it. The atmosphere in there will be incredible and I can’t wait to experience this game with all of our fans.”
We’ll be announcing more Spurs Legends players over the coming days so keep an eye on Club channels as we build up to this showpiece event.
