Serge Aurier captained Ivory Coast to a 1-0 victory over South Africa in their opening game at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cairo, Egypt on Monday afternoon.
Playing the full 90 minutes at right-back, Serge saw his nation pick up maximum points in Group D thanks to Jonathan Kodjia’s 64th-minute goal.
The result puts them level on points with Morocco, who beat Namibia by the same scoreline on Sunday.
