Fri 05 July 2019, 10:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Lancashire Spurs lifted the trophy as Yorkshire Spurs, one of our Official Supporters’ Clubs, hosted their annual Supporters’ Club tournament last weekend.

Teams representing Yorkshire Spurs, North West Spurs, Scunthorpe Spurs, Cornwall Spurs and Lancashire Spurs all competed in the five-a-side event held at Goals Football in Leeds.

Our legendary former midfielder and FA Cup winner David Howells attended the event to help referee matches, pass on tips and advice to the players and present prizes to the winners.

After an afternoon of fierce competition, Lancashire Spurs were crowned champions and took the trophy home. Andy Mason from Yorkshire Spurs won ‘Goal of the Tournament’, Nathan Ramsden from Lancashire Spurs was awarded ‘Player of the Tournament’ and Phez Partridge of Yorkshire Spurs picked up ‘Goalkeeper of the Tournament’. All prize winners took home signed balls, shirts and match tickets which were kindly donated by William Hill, the Club’s Official Betting Partner for Europe and Australia.

Paul Pavlou from Yorkshire Spurs said: “This is the second year that we have held this tournament, and each year we get more members wanting to compete. It’s a great way of bringing Supporters’ Clubs from around the country together to play football, make new friends and share stories of our beloved Spurs.”
