Our iconic former captain Steve Perryman recently visited Kiwi Spurs, one of our 200 official Supporters’ Clubs, for their annual legends tour of New Zealand.

Events were held over two days at the Four Kings Pub, Wellington and the Paddington Sports Bar, Auckland and were attended by over 200 members of Kiwi Spurs. Steve kicked off each evening with a Q&A, which was hosted by Kiwi Spurs Chairperson Paul Ruscoe, before helping with a charity auction.

Over the two days, the Supporters’ Club raised $5,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand – a charity they have supported for many years after they lost one of their most loyal members, Martin Barry, to the illness.

The event was also attended by Bobby Almond, a former New Zealand international who played alongside Steve Perryman for us in the 1970 FA Youth Cup Final, before he emigrated in 1973. The two were reunited after 49 years and spent time reminiscing about their time together playing for the Club. Don McAllister, another former Spurs player, also made an appearance at the event and spent time chatting to supporters.

Paul Ruscoe, Kiwi Spurs Chairperson, said: “Each year we hold our Kiwi Spurs Tour where members from all over the country can get together, socialise, meet their heroes and, most importantly of all, raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of New Zealand. This year, the event was bigger than ever with more members attending and more money raised. We are delighted to have had the likes of Steve Perryman, Don McAllister and Bobby Almond join us and share their memories of Spurs with us.”

We currently have 200 official Supporters’ Clubs across the world, including South Korea, India, Singapore, Lebanon, Nigeria, Australia, Bermuda, South Africa, Brazil and USA. In the UK we have 48 clubs, stretching from Cornwall to Glasgow as well as special interest groups such as Proud Lilywhites, for our LGBT+ supporters, SpursAbility, for our disabled fans, and Armed Forces Spurs for serving and former members of the British Armed Forces.
