Lucas: "This is a big moment in my career, my life"

Lucas Moura won’t forget 13 April, 2019 in a hurry.
The Brazilian flier scored the first hat-trick in our new stadium as we toppled Huddersfield Town 4-0 in the Premier League and then, just after the final whistle, enjoyed an impromptu kick about with his young son, Miguel, as fans sung ‘Ole’ to his every kick.
After Victor Wanyama’s opener, Lucas produced clinical finishes to complete the scoring, rifling home from the right angle for 2-0, controlling and volleying home Christian Eriksen’s cross for 3-0 and then planting the ball into the top corner for his hat-trick in added time.
It’s a very big moment in my career, my life and I will give my best every time, that’s the best way to say thanks to everyone here in Tottenham
“What a day! What a game! What an atmosphere! I have no words to explain this moment,” said Lucas, who took his tally to 12 goals in all competitions this season.
“First, my team-mates, we did very well, it was a great performance and to score my first hat-trick at the new stadium with my family here, my son, I just need to say thanks, I’m so happy.”

Asked about his taking his son onto the pitch, Lucas beamed: “What a moment. He’s my best gift with my wife and my family, to have him here with me on the field and the fans making such a good atmosphere, I will never forget this moment. I’m sure when he grows up he will remember this day.”
As for the game, Lucas felt his second goal for 3-0 was important as Huddersfield had enjoyed their best spell between 75-85 minutes and created a couple of chances.
He added: “We scored two goals in the first half and after, we were a bit lazy, 2-0 is too dangerous and if they score they put us in a difficult situation, so the third goal killed them off.
“I’m happy because we played a very good game, good intensity and we needed this result. This gives us good motivation for Wednesday.”
We travel to Manchester next week for the second leg of our Champions League quarter-final at City on Wednesday night (8pm).
