Members of our Yorkshire Spurs official Supporters’ Club completed the Great North Run in their Spurs shirts to raise money for charity recently.
Rich Taylor, Danny Tumman, Carl Harrington and Paul Pavlou joined the 50,000 other competitors to run the 13-mile race and raised over £800 for St Gemma’s Hospice – the biggest hospice in Yorkshire which provides expert care and support for local people with life-limiting illnesses.
Paul said: “We set up Yorkshire Spurs last year and thought it would be a good idea to complete the Great North Run as a club. Although we play football regularly, we are not natural runners, so it was quite a challenge for us. We have been delighted with the amount of money we have raised and would like to thank everyone who kindly sponsored us.”
Since founding the Supporters’ Club last season, Yorkshire Spurs have brought hundreds of Yorkshire-based Spurs fans together and raised money for local and national charities.
We currently have 181 official Supporters' Clubs across the world, including in South Korea, India, Singapore, Lebanon, Nigeria, Australia, Bermuda, South Africa, Brazil and USA. In the UK we have 28 clubs, stretching from Cornwall to Glasgow as well as special interest groups such as Proud Lilywhites, for our LGBT+ supporters, SpursAbility, for our disabled fans, and Armed Forces Spurs for serving and former members of the British Armed Forces.
