Mauricio on managing the squad

Mauricio Pochettino has spoken about the task of keeping the squad fresh through this period of seven matches in 21 days.

Saturday's trip to Wolves is the fifth game of the run with PSV (Tuesday) and Palace (Saturday week) to follow.

Mauricio made 10 changes to the starting line-up from Monday's Premier League clash against Manchester City to our Carabao Cup tie at West Ham on Wednesday night.

However, he's lost the services of midfielders Eric Dier (thigh) and Victor Wanyama (knee) as we head to Molineux for a 7.45pm kick-off on Saturday evening.

Speaking after training on Friday, Mauricio told us: "We need to take some decisions because we played two games, very tough games against Manchester City and West Ham (inside 48 hours this week) and now we travel to Wolves to play a very tough game on Saturday and then Champions League (PSV at home) on Tuesday.

"We need to manage the squad to be fresh and competitive for every game.

"It's always hard. A derby is always hard. It's tough to be ready and fresh to compete. Now it's Saturday and Tuesday and it will be tough. Premier League - we must win. Champions League - we must win. West Ham - we must win. Palace...it's always tough when you play to win, always tough for the players."
