It’s been a lightning start to the season for Lucas Moura – and he has no plans of slowing down.
The speedy attacker has kicked-off the Premier League season in imperious form with three goals in as many games – a beauty to open his account against Fulham followed by a dream double in our 3-0 win at Old Trafford.
Lucas has thrived after his pre-season efforts were rewarded with a place in Mauricio Pochettino’s starting 11 for the Premier League opener at Newcastle.
Now he has started to establish himself, Lucas hopes his start to the season will continue and reap the rewards for the team.
“This is only the beginning,” said Lucas, speaking after a wonderful night against United.
“I want to do a lot more for this Club and I think the Spurs fans deserve a trophy. I will do my best to make them dream, to make them happy and to win a trophy this season is my objective.”
Lucas displayed his excellent finishing ability against United, and produced a moment of individual magic for his second of the match, showcasing his electric speed to race away from Chris Smalling and curl the ball past David De Gea.
“What a moment! I can’t explain to you what I am feeling, it’s a very special moment for me,” he added.
"I had the opportunity to play and now I need to enjoy it, I need to show that I have the capacity to play and to help my team-mates. I believe in this group and believe in this Club. We are very strong and I want to win a trophy this season - I will do my best to win.”
