Tue 21 May 2013, 12:59|Tottenham Hotspur

Our Academy finished fifth in the Aegon Copa Amsterdam tournament over the weekend.

The team bounced back from a last-minute defeat against Fluminense in the group stage to beat Men United 1-0 with a goal from Darren McQueen and therefore take on Ajax in the fifth/sixth place play-off. Men United is a talent squad trained by Ronald de Boer.

The play-off finished 1-1 against the Dutch team and the players kept their nerve in the penalty shoot-out - scoring all their penalties to win 5-4.

Matches were played over 2x25-minute halves.

The tournament was won by Ajax Cape Town, who beat Borussia Monchengladbach in the final.
