Mauricio Pochettino has announced that Younes Kaboul has been named our new Club captain with Hugo Lloris and Emmanuel Adebayor as vice-captains.
The French defender is one of our longest-serving players having initially joined us from Auxerre in July, 2007. He spent 18 months at Portsmouth before rejoining us in January, 2010 and has now made 130 appearances in all competitions.
Younes has worn the captain's armband in his five starts so far this season and will now take over the role following the departure of Michael Dawson this summer.
Mauricio said: "Younes has shown me all the values needed to be a captain. He has the character to lead this team as well as the respect of his teammates. Hugo and Ade will be vice-captains and both of them, along with Younes, possess tremendous experience and have all shown a great attitude and leadership."
Younes: "I am delighted to have been given this responsibility. To follow in the footsteps of some of the legendary captains that have represented this football club is a fantastic honour. It is a great achievement for me on a personal level and I hope to help lead this team to great things in the future."
