World Cup - Kasey's got it covered!

Fri 06 June 2014, 14:10|Tottenham Hotspur

For ex-Spurs favourite and World Cup veteran Kasey Keller, this summer’s tournament will be different to any he’s been to before.

Our former goalkeeper, who was in the USA squad for the 1990, 1998, 2002 and 2006 tournaments, is looking forward to visiting Brazil next week to experience the showpiece competition from an altogether different perspective.

Since retiring from playing in 2011, the former Seattle Sounders star has gone into broadcasting.

And, having swapped his goalkeeping gloves for a microphone and a set of headphones, he’s ready to sample world football’s most prestigious event from the press box for the first time.

“In some ways I’m busier now than I was when I played,” admitted 44-year-old Kasey, who in addition to his media work revealed his passion for snowboarding in a recent interview with e-Hotspur magazine.

“It’s going to be interesting to see the World Cup from this perspective and I’m excited.

“I’m covering eight games in the first round and then I’ll be doing studio work in between so I’m going to have a very busy World Cup!”
