Hat-trick hero Harry Kane summed up the mood of the squad as we bounced back to form in impressive style at Fulham, declaring: “We needed that!”
Harry bagged his fifth treble for the Club and his first in the FA Cup as we started strongly at Craven Cottage and never relinquished control of the fifth round tie, running out 3-0 winners to set-up a home tie against Millwall in the quarter-finals.
The striker opened the scoring on 17 minutes and completed his hat-trick in the second half with further goals on 51 and 73, all clinical finishes having been set-up twice by Christian Eriksen and then Dele Alli.
It was the perfect response after a difficult week with defeats at Liverpool and KAA Gent.

“It’s been a tough week, not the best and we wanted to come here, get the win and progress to the next round,” said Harry, who took his Spurs tally to 83 goals.
“It was a good performance. I thought we were solid all around the pitch and deserved to win.”
It was pointed out to Harry that we had real intent from the first whistle.
“We’ve been starting slowly in the last month or so,” he conceded. “We got away with it at City (2-2 after being 2-0 down), got punished at Liverpool (0-2) and punished again in Gent (0-1) in midweek.
An important response today. Great performance from the team and always a good feeling keeping the match ball! ⚽️ #COYSpic.twitter.com/ElNPjZv8P4

“We wanted to put that right, get on the front foot, press high and win the ball back.
"We did that and created plenty of early chances, we should have scored a few more but it was a good win in the end.”
Naturally, he was delighted to be taking home matchball number five! “It’s my first in the FA Cup and a different ball for the mantlepiece,” he smiled. “Keep them coming! The more the merrier!”
