We gave everything - Nabil and Ryan

Mon 01 December 2014, 16:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Academy graduates Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason started together for the first time in Premier League action and proved key to victory over Everton on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino praised both players for their 'character and energy' in the midfield engine room as we pressed Everton all over the pitch on our way to a 2-1 win at the Lane.

Spurs TV caught up with the pair afterwards - watch the video at the top of the page - and here's what they had to say...

Nabil: "It was a really good win today. We expected Everton to be tough and that’s exactly what they showed. We responded with great character and it was a pleasure to play alongside Ryan."

Ryan: "We have a good understanding, we’ve come through the ranks together and credit to Nabs as well, he’s had a long time out injured and to be thrown into a game like that and respond the way he did is credit to him."

Nabil: "It was a tough game. We gave all we had. The gaffer said at half-time that we had to go out again as if it was 0-0 and give everything, don’t leave anything on the pitch and that’s what we did."

Ryan: "We haven’t picked up results here recently and the fans were fantastic, they helped us through the second half. They were non-stop and we owed that win to the fans."

Nabil: "It was a really good performance but now we have to keep going, we can’t stop, we have to improve and keep showing everyone what we can do."
