Federico Fazio underlined the importance of the win at West Brom heading into Saturday's North London Derby.
Christian Eriksen’s early free-kick was added to by a Harry Kane double - the second from the penalty spot - as we ran out 3-0 winners at The Hawthorns.
Centre-half Federico believes the manner of the victory will prove to be a vital boost ahead of our home clash with Arsenal this coming weekend.
“It was a good win at West Brom and we are in a good position in the league,” said the 27-year-old.
“It was a very important three points because the next game is the derby and we wanted to go into that off the back of a win.
“It was an important result for our confidence and for the team.”
Once again partnering Jan Vertonghen at the back, the Argentine international was delighted to emerge from Saturday’s match with a clean sheet intact - and was especially impressed with the saves of goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
He also had praise for Christian and Harry after another fine display from the goalscoring duo.
“A clean sheet is a positive,” he added. “Hugo is very important for us - he’s a great keeper and produced an outstanding performance.
“It was another great goal by Christian and Harry is continuing his fine form.
“We started aggressively which was important in getting the three points. We need to keep this attitude and this strong mentality.
"Now we’ll recover and prepare for a massive game against Arsenal.”
