A return to winning ways is the target for our Under-18s at Aston Villa on Saturday – but Kieran McKenna has warned that will be no easy task.
It’s been a busy week for our Academy players following last weekend’s disappointing home defeat to Chelsea but, as we get set for a return to Barclays Under-18 Premier League action at Villa’s Bodymoor Heath training ground, Coach Kieran says a difficult test is in store.
“Our toughest away game last year was probably at Aston Villa and in the last couple of seasons it’s always been a hard game,” he said.
“We’ll be expecting the same on Saturday and it’ll certainly be a good test for the boys. We’ve trained well this week and it’s been a mixed bag in terms of training groups. Some players have been with the Under-21s, we had an Under-17 game on Wednesday night and some have had opportunities with the first team.
“Obviously we were disappointed last week but it was the first game the boys have lost in two months so we’re keen to bounce back this weekend.”
Kick-off on Saturday is at 12pm. We’ll have live updates on Twitter @SpursOfficial along with a match report here on tottenhamhotspur.com afterwards.
