Our Under-18s have a chance to cement their position at the top of the Barclays Under-18 Premier League southern section table at Chelsea this afternoon.
A 2-2 draw against Everton at the weekend left the lads needing one point from their remaining three games to be mathematically certain of finishing in first place in the domestic standings – a feat that would book a spot in the end-of-season play-offs opposite one of the northern section’s top two sides.
West Ham and Fulham could still catch us at the summit – but Academy Manager John McDermott will be hoping for another good collective performance against the Blues today as we look to put the issue beyond doubt.
We beat Chelsea by the odd goal in five in the reverse fixture back in October – a match described as “an excellent advert for youth football” by John afterwards.
Kick-off at Chelsea is at 4pm today – we’ll bring you live updates on Twitter @SpursOfficial along with a full match report here on tottenhamhotspur.com this evening.
