Tweet #SpursAtWembley to turn the arch white

Fri 27 February 2015, 08:27|Tottenham Hotspur

In the build-up to Sunday’s Capital One Cup final we are up against Chelsea in a bid to turn the famous Wembley arch Tottenham Hotspur white! The standings as of 11am today (Friday, February 27) are below.

We’ll have to wait until 4pm on Sunday to tackle Chelsea on the pitch but we can score an early social media victory over the Blues by using #SpursAtWembley on Twitter more times than their official hashtag. The more you tweet using #SpursAtWembley the whiter the arch will go and the less Chelsea blue we will see.

The innovative social media vote is the first time the iconic arch has been utilised in this way to let fans decide how the national stadium looks ahead of a major cup final. It will also be the first time it has ever been lit up in a football club’s colours.

The League is tracking the use of two designated hashtags on Twitter throughout this week - our is #SpursAtWembley. The hashtag that receives most use on the social network before 6pm on Saturday will be declared the winner and the arch will be lit up in that club’s colours the night before the Capital One Cup Final.

Updates on the #OwnTheArch vote standings will be provided via the @CapitalOne_Cup Twitter account throughout the week, with the arch itself lit up to show the latest standings from Thursday evening.

So be sure to tell your wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, pets, friends and family to tweet their messages or photos of support for the team using #SpursAtWembley as many times as possible before the deadline on Saturday 28 February.

Follow @SpursOfficial on Twitter for LIVE updates and images of the arch as we attempt to make it a whitewash.

Support your club - use #SpursAtWembley and let’s turn Wembley white!
