Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Joe Watson is now fully accustomed to the rigours of Academy life as he enters his second year at the club.

The Wanstead-based midfielder, a mainstay of Jimmy Neighbour's under-17 side last season, is preparing with his teammates for the new campaign in the under-19 league under the watchful eye of Pat Holland.

Joe admits that the first year of full-time football can be a slightly daunting prospect at first for boys fresh out of school and explains that it is the daily routines that take a bit of getting used to.

"At first it is weird, but as the season goes on you get used to the routines," reflected Joe, who says his form improved as the season reached the final phase.

"As the season went on I felt I progressed and the last six or seven games were the best I had all season.

"I've been here for about six years now, I signed at the under-11 stage but trained before that."

As far as the under-19 captain is concerned, the recent trip to the Eurofoot Tournament in Belgium cemented team spirit among his group and he feels they have the potential to enjoy a successful season with Pat.

"It's a bit different and we've got a better team spirit now after the trip to Belgium and I think we'll improve as a team this season as we go on."

Joe featured for Colin Calderwood's reserve side in the first half at Billericay on Saturday and he hopes that, if he shows up well in the under-19s, that more chances will come his way.

"At the end of last season I got a game for Colin as well and it was good - so hopefully I will get a few more games as the season goes on."
