Tour 2014 - lads impress Seahawks with NFL skills!

Fri 18 July 2014, 22:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Our players joined forces with NFL champions Seattle Seahawks for some fun 'football/soccer' challenges on Friday morning.

NFL fans Etienne Capoue, Harry Kane, Gylfi Sigurdsson and our former USA international goalkeeper Brad Friedel pitted their sporting wits against Doug Baldwin (wide receiver), Steven Hauschka (kicker) and KJ Wright (linebacker) at Seahawks' VMAC Training Facility.

The players were soon coaching each other on their different skills and it wasn't long before Harry and Gylfi were throwing passes to Doug - who had 50 catches last season and five touchdowns, including one in the SuperBowl - while Brad, Etienne and Steven spoke about the the different kicking techniques.

After firing balls through the NFL goalposts, the players moved outside and attempted to strike the into a goal from the halfway line.

KJ, who started 13 games in Seahawks' glory campaign, claiming 80 tackles, was impressed with the NFL skills on show from our players.

"It's been a really good morning, I love seeing players from different sports and what they can do as well as learning all about their sport," he said.

"The guys certainly have some NFL skills. They can catch it, kick it and they certainly know how to celebrate!

"I've learned how to kick the soccer ball and how to curve it as well. It's been a lot of fun."

Harry, a fan of New England Patriots, admitted it was a dream to meet the Seahawks players and to train and play at the home of the NFL champions.

"I was like a kid in the playground," he said. "It's great to be involved with players at the very top of their sport.

"They were great guys and very interested in our sport as well.

"It's a dream for me to come here, especially as Seahawks are the NFL champions. I'd like to say a big thanks to them for having us."
