Tottenham Hotspur will kick off a year of community engagement in the London Borough of Brent by holding a Jobs Fair for local people at Wembley Stadium on Thursday 27 July, 10am-3pm.
The Club will play all its home matches at the national stadium during the 2017-2018 football season as it completes the construction of a 61,000+ seat venue in Tottenham.
While at Wembley, the Club is committed to delivering a series of its award-winning community outreach programmes that have been changing millions of lives across North-East London for over a decade.
This includes an Employment and Skills initiative that has created over 1,000 new jobs in Tottenham linked to the Club’s ongoing stadium regeneration scheme.
As part of this, the Club held a number of Jobs Fairs at its former White Hart Lane home, which saw thousands of local residents through the door to take advantage of live employment opportunities.
Now, Tottenham Hotspur is bringing opportunities to residents in Brent, with major employers including Hilton Hotels, Boots and Costa expected to offer live vacancies at the Jobs Fair, as well as a number of organisations from the construction industry.
The Club itself will also be exhibiting the employability programmes it will be offering during its season at Wembley, including volunteering in its catering kiosks at the stadium on matchdays and a Construction Academy run in partnership with major property developer, Quintain.
Donna-Maria Cullen, Executive Director, Tottenham Hotspur, said: “The Jobs Fair is just the start of a wide programme of activity for the community of Brent during our season at Wembley.
“The Club has been setting the benchmark in its delivery of employment opportunities and community development initiatives back home in Haringey and surrounding areas for a number of years now - we are delighted to be delivering this work in Brent.
“We hope to see many local residents attend the event at Wembley on July 27 and take advantage of the job vacancies that will be on offer, both through the Club itself and our network of major employers.”
The Club plays its first home Premier League match at Wembley on Sunday 20 August as Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on reigning Champions and London rivals Chelsea.
Throughout the season, local residents will get the chance to watch Tottenham Hotspur play at Wembley and those attending the Jobs Fair on July 27 will be given the opportunity to register their interest.
Jobseekers attending on Thursday July 27 do not need to pre-register and can access the Jobs Fair via Wembley Stadium’s main entrance between 10am and 3pm.
