Sully on away-day alert

Neil Sullivan is wary of the away-day factor ahead of the visit of Bolton to the Lane.

Bolton have lost only once on their travels in the Premiership - a 3-2 defeat at Aston Villa - while wins have been secured at Leicester, Manchester United and Ipswich. They have also remained unbeaten following trips to Leeds, Blackburn and Arsenal.

"Bolton are a good side who have been playing well away from home, some people say they play better away than they do at home," reasoned Sully. "It's a tough draw for us in the Worthington Cup too, but we'll look forward to it and we're full of confidence.

"They look a good solid side. With the way they tend to play it will be a tough game, not only Monday but the cup game after that."

Being an ex-Wimbledon man, Sully recognises the value of a good team spirit and notices that quality in the Bolton ranks.

"They seem very together, but they have to be. Every team that comes up into the Premiership knows it's going to be a tough season for them and they have to stick together and go through it.

"There will be times when they don't play well and lose a few games, and that's when they've got to stick together.

"They've done well so far, so I'm sure they'll be looking to come to White Hart Lane and get another result. They've beat a couple of the big boys so they won't be scared of coming over."

On the prospect of facing the same team next week, Sully added: "Cup games are completely different. You can have the same 11 players out there on the pitch every time, but there is something about the cup.

"The Worthington Cup is a road to Europe, so you go at it the best you can. It's a big game for us."
