Stoke 0-1 Spurs - Danny's delight

Danny Rose revealed he spoke to the coaching team about scoring more goals last week - and delivered at Stoke.

The full-back surged into the box to meet Emmanuel Adebayor’s cross and power home a header to secure our 1-0 victory at the Britannia.

It was Danny’s second goal of the season after a screamer in the Europa League play-off against Dinamo Tbilisi back in August, but more tellingly, his first in the Premier League since his never-to-be-forgotten wonder goal on his debut against Arsenal back in April, 2010.

“It’s about time I started getting on the scoresheet!” said Danny, who had an eventful match to say the least.

“I spoke to the management team last week and they said they want to see me in the opposition box a bit more and having a few more chances at goal, so it’s nice to get on the scoresheet and even better we got the three points.

“I do like to get forward and it’s great to score a header, that’s very rare. I’m delighted.”

Danny was on the end of the tackle that earned Ryan Shawcross a second yellow card and sending off and soon after, reacted to a challenge from Geoff Cameron that earned him a yellow card. He was substituted soon after.

“I had a few seconds where I lost my head a little bit and the manager brought me off, rightly so,” he added.

“We’re finishing the season well, unbeaten since Anfield, we’ve two games left and we’re looking to win them both.”
