Ugo Ehiogu has set targets for a number of players in tonight’s Under-21s fixture against Sunderland at Stevenage FC.
We take on the Black Cats at the Lamex Stadium in a 7pm kick-off, looking to bounce back from a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in our last Barclays Under-21 Premier League fixture on April 17.
For Under-21s Coach Ugo, the match presents several challenges for our players and he’s looking forward to seeing how the lads react.
“We want more of the players to play to their identities,” he said. “I’m looking for certain players to make more penalty box entries and have more shots at goal while retaining control of the game lower down.
“There are targets for all of the boys and it’s a game that will probably test us in many ways. Sunderland will give us a good mix in terms of the opposition they’ll provide and it’s a match that everyone is looking forward to.”
Milos Veljkovic could play his first game for 11 weeks as the central defender – currently on loan at Charlton – continues his recovery from an injury sustained in the Addicks’ defeat at Middlesbrough in February, while Nathan Oduwa – on loan with Luton Town since January – could also feature.
