Unbeaten in their last eight games, Everton arrive at White Hart Lane on Sunday knowing they’re in for a test against a Tottenham Hotspur team that has won six of their last eight matches.
Beating Hull 2-1 before their UEFA Europa League win in midweek, Mauricio Pochettino’s squad head into the match having found the net regularly of late – notching two goals in five of their last six games.
Everton recorded a convincing 2-0 win away to Wolfsburg in midweek, however, and appear to have put their early season defensive woes behind them.
With the teams currently on equal points, Sunday’s match also presents the opportunity for Spurs to leapfrog Roberto Martinez’s side in the table and – providing results go their way – Spurs could end the day inside the top four.
Heading into the fixture as favourites, Spurs will be keen for a repeat of last season’s 1-0 win and haven’t lost at home to the Toffees since November 2008.
As such, as 67/50 favourites, Spurs will be hoping to build on their recent wins and are 37/10 to win to nil or 6/1 to win by two goals.
Everton however, will arrive with ambitions of their own and given both teams’ performances in front of goal, the Spurs win or draw with over 2.5 goals offers potential value at 39/25 – with those expecting a tighter fixture able to back under 2.5 goals at 91/50.
