Spurs vs AEL - Jan determined to get through

Jan Vertonghen hopes the momentum gained from three consecutive wins at the start of the season can help to propel us into the Group Stage of the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Fresh from Sunday’s 4-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers, we resume our Play-Off Round tie with Cypriot side AEL Limassol at White Hart Lane carrying a 2-1 advantage into the game from last week’s first leg.
Defender Jan, who played in both those games following his recent return from international duty over the summer, stressed the importance of maintaining our winning run as we seek to book our place in Friday’s Group Stage draw.
“We have to get the job done,” said the Belgian. “It’s very important to get into the Group Stage and we are in a good position now, so hopefully we can get through on Thursday and then we’ll see where we get.”
On our most recent triumph against the Hoops, and in particular the performance of two-goal Nacer Chadli, Jan added: “We played very well and we had control of the game, so for me it was a perfect match to come back into in the Premier League.
“We were very clinical and we scored four good goals. I am very happy for Nacer because I know he’s able to do these things and now he has done.”
