Tim Sherwood felt we deserved to take maximum points after a tough test against Fulham at White Hart Lane on Saturday.

Goals from Paulinho - his seventh this season and first at the Lane - Harry Kane and Younes Kaboul secured a 3-1 victory against a Fulham side that fought to the end and forced Hugo Lloris to make two world-class saves at key times in the match.

Paulinho opened the scoring from Christian Eriksen’s free-kick on 35 minutes but the lead only last two minutes as Steve Sidwell broke through centrally to finish.

Harry headed home his third goal in three starts in the Premier League for 2-1 just three minutes into the second half and Hugo maintained the lead with a flying save from Hugo Rodallega’s header.

Christian provided another goal on a plate from a free-kick this time for Younes - his first since August, 2011 - on 62 minutes and Hugo then denied Sidwell from the penalty spot, the Cottagers’ final hope of getting back into the game on 77 minutes.

“We deserved to win,” stated Tim. “Matches are always tough at this stage of the season because every team has something to play for.

“Fulham were spirited, kept going, had a threat with Rodallega, Parker and Sidwell were dogged, but we stuck to it, weathered what they had to offer and showed our class in the end.

“It’s always important for us to win in front of our fans, to entertain and to score goals so to come away with three points and score another three goals, overall, we’re all pleased.”
