Mauricio Pochettino has underlined the importance of our Tour opener in Seattle.
We take on high-flying MLS side Seattle Sounders - currently top of the Western Conference - at CenturyLink Field at 1pm (local time, 9pm UK) this afternoon.
The match represents Mauricio’s first as Head Coach and he’s looking to put pre-season preparation into practice.
“We’re all excited to play at the stadium, we’ll enjoy it and hopefully it will be a good game for our supporters,” said Mauricio.
“It’s the first game, it’s a friendly, it’s pre-season so it’s important to compete and to show our style.
“We expect a tough game because Seattle has a good team but for the moment it’s not about results for us but to improve, to learn our philosophy and start to show that on the pitch.
“Pre-season is important but the most important thing is to arrive fit at the start of the season.”
