Regret for Harry

Mon 10 November 2014, 10:08|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane couldn’t hide his disappointment after Sunday’s defeat to Stoke.

The young striker went close with two first half headers on his first Premier League start of the season, but goals from Bojan Krkic and Jonathan Walters before the break left us with it all to do.

Nacer Chadli reduced the arrears with a well-taken volley 13 minutes from time, but the closing stages yielded no further goals with Kyle Naughton sent off shortly before the end for bringing down Victor Moses as he burst through on goal.

It all amounted to a very tough afternoon at White Hart Lane, with Harry left to rue how it all transpired.

“It was obviously my first start of the season in the Premier League and I wanted to get a better result,” he said.

“We gave away two poor goals in the first half and we were always struggling to get back into the game after that.

“We’re very disappointed with that, but we have to move on. We look forward to the next game after the international break and we’re determined to get a positive result.”
