Alex Pritchard spoke of his delight after being shortlisted for two awards at the Football League Awards 2014.
Alex, enjoying a season-long loan at Swindon Town in League One, is nominated for the Football League's Young Player of the Year and Sky Bet League One Player of the Year.
He's nominated alongside Championship players Will Hughes (Derby) and Liam Moore (Leicester) for the Young Player award and with Adam Forshaw (Brentford) and Kevin McDonald (Wolves) for the League One prize.
The awards take place on Sunday at The Brewery in London and Alex, enjoying a season-long loan at Swindon Town in League One
The young playmaker has clearly impressed and weighed in with seven goals and a number of assists in 38 appearances in all competitions.
"I’m absolutely chuffed to be nominated, I’ve worked hard all season and with the amount of players of my age doing so well, it’s great to get that recognition in the Young Player award,” said the Academy graduate.
“I haven’t had a lot of injuries, played a lot of games, scored a few goals - not as many as I would have liked - made a few assists, set-pieces have been good. We’ve still 10 games to go as well and I’ll be pushing on until the end of the season.”
Swindon remain outside the play-off places after a midweek loss to Wolves and take on Bristol City on Saturday. “Team-wise we haven’t been playing the best but hopefully we can turn that around,” he added. “We have to keep going.”
