Our Lucky Charm?

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

If past success is anything to go by, we will travel to Anfield to face Liverpool on Saturday with something of a lucky charm on board.

Kasey Keller has kept goal at Anfield three times - and has yet to feature on the losing side!

His first visit was in December 1996 and Steve Claridge shocked the Reds by giving Leicester a 1-0 lead on 76 minutes, but hopes of an upset were dashed by Stan Collymore four minutes later.

Kasey's second and more fruitful visit was Liverpool's opening home game of season 1997-98 and expectations were high at Anfield following the recruitment of Paul Ince and Karl Heinz Riedle. They found themselves behind after a minute and, to the frustration of the home crowd, two down with seven minutes to play. Ince netted a consolation past Kasey.

The following season in April 1999, having already beaten Liverpool 1-0 at Filbert Street, Leicester again emerged from their Anfield examination with honours - winning 1-0 courtesy of a 90th minute strike from Ian Marshall.

Surely not too many goalkeepers could add 'unbeaten at Anfield' to their CV...

"I've had lots of joy - two wins and a draw with Leicester," recalled Kasey.

"I've had a little bit of success there personally, but it will be a tough game on Saturday. We were the last team to beat them in the Premiership - and they could be smarting from that a little bit.

"They are a good defensive team that can hit you quickly. That's why they are where they are."

Liverpool have altered their approach slightly this season and manager Gerard Houllier is sending his team out with greater attacking intent. Going on the offensive might have cost them a couple of leads earlier in the season, but they have now not conceded a Premiership goal in four games.

"Yes. That's a great combination! Open up a little bit and still keep clean sheets...

"They are a good team, a very good, solid team. They are well organised, have good individuals and it will be a difficult task."
