With the start of the World Cup less than two weeks away, two Spurs legends sat down at White Hart Lane to recall the time they lifted the famous trophy.
Ossie Ardiles and Ricky Villa, both members of the Argentina squad that won the competition in 1978, joined forces on Thursday night for a special look back on their famous triumph.
The pair also recalled the weeks after the tournament, in which they were snapped up by Keith Burkinshaw in one of the biggest coups in our history.
Speaking at the event, Ossie beamed: “We’re very happy to be here. It’s fantastic to see so many of the supporters coming out to join us.”
Ricky agreed. “It’s great for us,” he added. “It’s a very nice opportunity to meet the Spurs supporters and have a chat about the World Cup. It’s been very enjoyable.”
Guests enjoyed dinner in the hospitality suites at White Hart Lane, before Ossie and Ricky chatted about their experiences on the world’s biggest footballing stage and answered fans’ questions as part of a special Q&A session.
