Norwich 1-0 Spurs - Tim's verdict

Sun 23 February 2014, 20:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Tim Sherwood couldn’t hide his disappointment after Sunday’s 1-0 defeat at Norwich City.

Robert Snodgrass’ strike just two minutes into the second half proved the difference in a game of few chances at Carrow Road.

We started slowly but had our best spell midway through the second half as John Ruddy saved twice from Emmanuel Adebayor, Roberto Soldado fired into the side-netting and Ruddy was at his best to deny Nacer Chadli 10 minutes from time.

But it wasn’t to be as the Canaries ended our fine run of form on the road in the Premier League - we'd travelled to Norfolk on the back of six wins and a draw in our last seven away league matches.

“It's disappointing because it's three valuable points that you don't want to be throwing away at this stage of the season,” reflected Tim.

“Everywhere you go it is going to be difficult. We've been to some tough places and got results but this time unfortunately we've come away with nothing.

“We pushed on in the second half. One thing’s for sure, we’re always going to go down fighting.”

Tim was particularly frustrated with the performance in the first half.

“It was a poor start again,” he said. “It was a good start against Newcastle in our last away game and we saw the reward we got from that.

“It was a nothing game in the first half, we needed to bounce back and then we suffered a blow after half-time, a minute in and we conceded a sloppy goal.

“All of a sudden we started to play and started to create chances but unfortunately we couldn't take them.”
