Michel Vorm took a look around White Hart Lane as we faced Forest in the Capital One Cup and admitted later: “This is why I came to Spurs.”

The goalkeeper snapped up from Swansea in the summer made his debut for us in the 3-1 victory on Wednesday night.

He did so in front of almost 32,000 fans at the Lane as goals from Ryan Mason, Roberto Soldado and Harry Kane booked our passage into round four and another home tie against Brighton.

“I made my debut in the Capital One Cup and the stadium was almost full. That’s why I came here. Over 30,000 is unbelievable, it’s a joy,” said the Dutch international.

“I know I probably won’t play against Arsenal but that is a big, big game and you learn from these things, even if you don’t play.

“I came to Spurs, to work hard, to train at a higher level, to play at a higher level and to become a better goalkeeper.

“I’ve been in the squad for the last three or four games, I’ve now made my debut and I’m looking forward to the future.”
