Nacer rues Baggies loss

Nacer Chadli was brutally honest in his assessment of Sunday’s defeat to West Bromwich Albion, declaring “we have to be much better.”

The unmarked James Morrison headed home Chris Brunt’s 74th minute corner as we crashed 1-0 against the Baggies in the Premier League at White Hart Lane.

Belgian international Nacer, who started the game before making way for Roberto Soldado just after the hour mark, admitted the team wasn’t up to standard on the day.

“We didn’t create enough chances,” reflected the 25-year-old, who has three top flight goals to his name this season. “Our passing was poor today and we didn’t make the right decisions in attack.

“With the quality that we have we should score goals but it didn’t happen today. We have to be much better to win games.”

Naturally, Nacer is keen for us to return to winning ways in Wednesday’s home Capital One Cup tie with Nottingham Forest as we look for a boost heading into next weekend’s North London Derby at Arsenal – a game the attacking midfielder has already earmarked for a reaction to our league disappointment.

“We know the rivalry and we know what we are playing for,” he declared. “We know we can change our results on the pitch and hopefully we will win the game. We want to get the three points there.”
