Nabil Bentaleb knows Nottingham Forest would love nothing more than to scalp us in the Capital One Cup to supplement their flying start to the season.
Currently top of the pile in the Championship, Stuart Pearce’s men come to White Hart Lane on Wednesday bristling with confidence.
Teenage midfielder Nabil, who helped us claim a battling point away at Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League last week, doesn’t expect an easy ride by any stretch of the imagination as we enter the Capital One Cup at the third round stage.
But that doesn’t mean he’s not eyeing a lengthy run in the competition if we can get past the Reds this week.
“We have to show that we are capable of winning trophies. I want to win medals here and this competition is a great chance for us,” said the Algerian international.
“Of course, we know all about Forest, they are a good team, in great form and they are going to fight all the way.
“They will want to win against a Premier League team, but we have to impose our tempo on the game and show them that we are not taking this game lightly.
“We have seen time and again what can happen in cup competitions, big teams can get knocked out by lower league sides so we will be focused to make sure that doesn’t happen to us.”
