Kieran Trippier's thoughts turned to his parents as he pulled on a senior England shirt for the first time.

Having been capped at youth levels, the full-back earned his first senior cap for the Three Lions in Tuesday night's 3-2 loss against France in Paris.

As he prepared to walk out at the Stade de France, Kieran's mum and dad, Eleanor and Chris, were again at the forefront of his mind.

"As soon as I saw my shirt, knowing I was starting, the feeling was amazing. I was buzzing and so proud to wear it and to sing the national anthem with my team-mates. The whole experience was unbelievable.

"It's always an honour to play for your country and hopefully there will be many more."
